Most golf courses in New Zealand are of very good quality, but Millbrook Golf Course is even better than that! Again, this is one of those top golf courses you have to play, near Queenstown, in Arrowton, surrounded by impressive mountain ranges. The course has been voted Best Golf Accommodation of Australasia & New Zealand, 2010, 2011 & 2012, at the World Travel Awards! The legendary Sir Bob Charles, New Zealand’s most prolific golfer; the first left hander ever to win a major, was one of the designers.

The nine holes we played, the Remarkables Course, were the easiest of the 27 hole complex, but due to the elevation, and the lay-out a lot of fun to play.

What makes this course even more fun to play, is the fact that this course is being used for New Zealand Open qualifying; the professional tournament of New Zealand (comparable with the KLM Open in the Netherlands). So if you come off the course with a reasonable score, you get the feeling you might even have a little chance of someday qualifying for a professional event (Maarten played 2 over, after having done a bungee jump about 2 hrs before…)
