Indonesia golf

In Indonesia there are 6 regions where you can play golf well: Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali-Lombok and Bintan-Batam. There are different types of golf, with courses in and nearby cities, mountain courses, as well as courses along the most tranquil whit beaches with waving palm trees.

As can be expected in a developing country such as Indonesia, golf is very much an elitist sport and clubs are often only open for members. However, due to the large numbers of tourists, more and more courses are now being opened for greenfee players as well. Caddies are often obligatory, and mostly female.

We played the Hotel Bali Beach Golf Course in Sanur; a fun nine hole course, near the beach.
